Most of these sak today are practiced mainly in Thailand and it is increasing hard to find Khmer masters in Cambodia. These tattoo are revered for their magical charm that is suppose to protect a warrior or a soldier. Because of this reverence the art has remain mostly unchanged for centuries with original Khmer scipts still being used.
The best place to find Khmer art outside of Cambodia is Thailand. From Sak to magical charms, and sculptors (unfortunately sometimes these are looted national treasures). Thai also have many Khmer temples such as Phimai and they are very beautiful. Though Thailand does not like to admit it, it shares and borrow many cultural influences from Khmer.
Seen in positive light, Thailand, Lao and Kampuchea are sister kingdoms in term of culture and
history.

As far as i know from studying and old people, Khmer(CAMBODIA) was once a great empire called KHMER EMPIRE but it's slowly destroy by our own Khmer People. Then Siam (Thailand)and Youn (Vietnam) started to fight Khmer to take the land and claimed as their own. Some area still used the same name as before but some has changed to something you can't even think of. Same as this, Khmer Script also taken by Siam and so on such as Khmer Cultures, Traditions...etc. So please anyone want to know the truth go to www.wikipedia.org and compare those who want to make everything confusing. Just one thing, when did Khmer started to form? and when did Siam started to form? you will find the answers to everything that occur later on by those who know nothing but greedy and envy. Hope all the Khmer started to stand up and show the world that we are the Khmer Empire's Blood.
